The connection between mind and body is undeniable. Therapy must offer a holistic approach that recognises mind, body and soul as integral components of the whole.
What is Havening
The Havening techniques have been developed since 2001 by Dr Ronald A. Ruden M.D., Ph.D and his brother Steven J. Ruden D.D.S., ICF/ACC.
Havening uses powerful tools that can address the consequences of traumatic or stressful events and their memories. Based on the science of brain chemistry, it is possible to alter encoded traumatic memories, anxiety or fears that are troubling, by altering brain chemistry and the speed of the brain waves. Psychological trauma and stress-related disorders are being treated using this method and involves psychosensory therapies, which uses sensory input to alter thought, mood and behavior
Havening Techniques is a healing modality designed to change the brain to de-traumatize a memory and remove its negative effects from both our psyche and body. These techniques are powerful tools to treat the consequences of encoded traumatic/stressful memories. The sensory input of human touch is used as a therapeutic tool and this we refer to as Havening Touch®. One of the great advantages of Havening Techniques in the present climate is the ability to conduct sessions very satisfactorily in a clinic or via video call.
During the session, the client is shown how to apply the Havening Touch to upper arms, face and hands which generates delta waves in the brain and in the process de-links the memory from the traumatic component. Havening (the transitive verb of the word haven….to put in a safe place) is capable of achieving this without the use of medication, talking, or prolonged exposure to these techniques.
Some results are instantaneous within one session. Pain has, in some cases, disappeared instantly and long-standing issues have been resolved very quickly, while disturbing memories fade so effectively that they become irretrievable.
ENHANCE YOUR WELLBEING
Here at Harmonized Therapies we offer the very best 'psychosensory therapy', the
Havening Techniques®. What is a "psychosensory therapy?" Perhaps you have heard of "EFT", or other "Tapping Therapies", "EMDR" or "Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing" is also and example of a "psychosensory therapy".
Basically a psychosensory therapy is one that uses touch or physical movement to facilitate psychological and emotional healing.
Note - The Havening Techniques® are not an "energy therapy" per se, although the generation of the bodies own healing energies is central to how Havening works.
The difference between Havening and and the rest ? HARD SCIENCE . Below is More information about Havening .
What Havening Can Help With?
Self-Havening can be very effective if done with discipline, insight and a willingness to take risks to bring up uncomfortable emotions. Common conditions that respond particularly well are acute strong negative emotions, such as anger, grief, jealously and sadness, compulsive thoughts and behaviors such as hair pulling, and or imaging stressful situations, general anxiety, panic attacks and chronic somatic pain. Above demonstrates the touches used in Havening Techniques, These can be applied by ones self or by a practitioner. Self Havening is a soothing tool that I train my clients how to use for themselves. Give it ago the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or during a meditation. It's a powerful tool to have and use.

Yes, Havening is safe and is a great self-help tool. However, when working with significant traumatic memories, it is important that the Havening is carried out by or under the guidance of a certified Havening Techniques practitioner.
On occasions the use of Havening can result in repressed emotions being expressed quite intensely. This can be due to the bringing into consciousness long forgotten memories. This release is a normal part of the healing process and helps with the clearing and releasing of stored emotions.
If you choose to use to use the Havening Technique as a self-help tool, it is possible to experience some emotional distress and/or physical discomfort. Sometimes, additional unresolved memories may surface during / after using the Havening technique that can be perceived as negative.
In addition, further emotional material may continue to surface indicating other issues may need to be addressed.
If you inadvertently experience any distressing reactions, you are strongly advised to stop using the Havening Technique and seek appropriate professional help
Yes.
The great thing about Havening Techniques is that the practitioner doesn’t even need to know the content of the event or memory. You are completely in control throughout the whole process.
Havening Touch involves a simple touch of the hands, upper arm and face. As part of the initial ‘informed consent process’, permission needs to be obtained for this aspect of the session.
If a person does not wish to be touched, this is not a problem as the person can self-apply Havening Touch.
What is Massage
The healing power of Massage is both profound and simple. Physical touch not only nurtures the body, it also calms the mind and Revives the senses. Using pure essential oils, hot stones, and natural oil to soothe the body.
Massage therapy can be one of the best stress busters available! Alongside the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of a massage clinic, the act of massage itself coaxes our bodies into an improved state of wellbeing. And while stress can be temporarily alleviated with one massage session, identifying a long-term massage plan with a qualified massage therapist will be more beneficial for clients in managing chronic stress.
What's the benefits of a Regular Massage :
This is why combining Massage and Havening together can be so beneficial for healing. A massage stimulates your nervous system, wakes up your muscles, organs, and glands, moves blood and lymph fluid, and gets multitudes of cells to produce and release chemicals and hormones. Your body needs a massage to renew itself and reverse the effects of stress.
You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term. Massage is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you.
